If You travel to Budapest, You have to take care just the same way as You would in any other big European city. If You watch your purse and luggage, do not leave anything in the car, read and ask everything carefully, it is not probable that anything bad will happen to You. Pick pocketing and bag snatching can happen in big cities like Budapest, Debrecen, Miskolc or Szeged, especially on crowded public transport, in the street, shopping centres and other places frequented by tourists. In the bars check your bill before paying, unfortunately some bars, clubs and restaurants charge extravagant prices by means of scams foreigners. If you take a taxi do not forget to ask for a bill. It is good if You get some relevant information about taxi prices (airport-hotel for example) before your trip, so You would know if a driver asks for more than he should.
